Restaurant Week 2023: ‘Choose. Book. Enjoy!’
103 restaurants are participating in this year’s autumn edition of the most popular culinary event in Slovenia. Over 100,000 guests are expected during 2023 Restaurant Week (spring and autumn). Slovenian Autumn Restaurant Week 2023 will take place from October 13th – 22nd. The price of each menu is €23 other than in those restaurants with the highest rating where the price will be €28 and €25. 103 of Slovenia’s finest restaurants will take part in autumn Restaurant Week, among them there will be five restaurants participating for the first time. Among the participating restaurants there are 28 from the Michelin Slovenia Guide 2023. Everything is prepared for ‘Choose. Book. Enjoy!’ Last year’s Restaurant Week achieved record numbers of guests, exceeding 110,000! Over the years, those visiting restaurants as part of Restaurant Week have come to realise that good food isn’t just available at restaurants with stars, but rather at all restaurants that participate in the tastiest week of the year! Uroš Mencinger, selector of Restaurant Week restaurants: “There’s no need to select, rather just choose… Restaurant Week already features a selection of the best, therefore all you have to do is choose which one you will visit this time. It is best to do so via the Restaurant Week website which is also the search engine for the best Slovenian restaurants; the latter critiques all the restaurants that are part of Restaurant Week.” This autumn, in 10 of the tastiest days of the year, Slovenian chefs offer guests the chance to taste the culinary future whilst also combining tradition and modernity. Uroš Mencinger: “The finest quality is derived from a rich tradition, whilst at the same time it must not remain in the past but rather tradition must be built upon. By emphasising and combining tradition and modernity, we wish to stress that both elements are of equal importance in contemporary cuisine.” The best of Slovenia’s restaurants and their chefs take part in Restaurant Week, which promotes the ‘crème’ of Slovenian cuisine. It takes place twice per year – spring and autumn – for 10 days each, when the chefs demonstrate their abilities by offering 3-course menus for a wallet-friendly price of 23+ euros in what have been labelled the ‘most culinary weeks of the year’. By taking part the participating restaurants reward their regular guests for their loyalty and invite new ones to become acquainted with fine dining, which doesn’t always have to be expensive.
